DAMBULLA / KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA / COLOMBO

DAY 01: ARRIVAL / PINNAWALA / SIGIRIYA

Arrival in Sri Lanka.

You will be met on arrival at the International Airport by our representative who will assist you with your luggage and guide you to your vehicle where your personal chauffeur guide awaits

Then proceed to Dambulla.

En-route Visit:

  • Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage 

“Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage was established in 1975 by Sri Lanka department of wildlife conservation. It was originally established to make protection to the orphaned wild elephants found in forests of Sri Lanka. It is an orphanage, a nursery for elephants. Presently more than 60 elephants live here including baby elephants. The area is about 10 ha and bathing and viewing are on the Maha Oya River opposite the orphanage. Bottled milk feeding is done twice a day for the baby elephant’s and visitors can take part in bottle feeding for the elephants.”

Check-in to the hotel and relax.

Return back to the hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay in Dambulla.

DAY 02: DAMBULLA / KANDY

Breakfast at the Hotel. Then, proceed to Kandy.

  • Dambulla cave temple

Dambulla Cave Temple, known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site (1991) in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country. This site is situated 148 km east of Colombo and 72 km north of Kandy. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of Gods and Goddesses. The latter include two statues of Hindu Gods, God Vishnu and God Ganesh. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square meters. Depictions on the walls of the caves include the temptation by the demon Mara, and Buddha’s first sermon.

DAY 03: KANDY

Breakfast at the Hotel. Then, proceed for below visits: 

  • Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden 

Royal Botanical Gardens , Peradeniya , Sixty Seven hectares of exquisite beauty and botanical treasures containing more than 4000 species, this is a haven not only for Scientists but to every nature lover as well. 

  • Kandy Lake & Upper Lake Drive 
  • Gem Museum  
  • Traditional Wood Carving and Batik Factory
  • Temple of the Tooth Relic 
  • Cultural Show 

 Later , return  back to the hotel and relax. Dinner and Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kandy.

 

DAY 04: KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA

Breakfast at the Hotel. Then, proceed to Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya is a city, in the hill country of the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The meaning of Nuwara Eliya is “city on the plain (table land)” or “city of light”. The city is the administrative capital of Nuwara Eliya District, with a picturesque landscape and temperate climate. It is located at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is considered to be the most important location for Tea production in Sri Lanka. The city is overlooked by Pidurutalagala, the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka. The city established by the British in the nineteenth century, known as “Little England” is a popular holiday resort for Sri Lankans tourists due to its cool climate and quaint colonial feel with its little bungalows surrounded by hedgerows. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of the tea country and you can visit a plantation and a factory here and witness how the famous “Ceylon Tea” is brewed.

DAY 05: NUWARA ELIYA / COLOMBO

Breakfast at the Hotel. Then, proceed to Colombo.

En-route Visits:

  • Sita Amman Temple
  • St. Clair’s & Devon Waterfalls 

Proceed to Colombo.

Check-in to the hotel and relax. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel in Colombo.

DAY 06: COLOMBO

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed for Colombo City Tour.

Colombo City Tour Sightseeing highlights include the Colombo National and Dutch period museums, old and new parliament, Gangarama Buddhist Temple, Town Hall, and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall. Apart from excellent shopping, Colombo offers visits to one of the world’s leading tea auctions, an 18 hole Golf Course, seasonal Buddhist and Hindu pageants, international cricket tournaments, plush casinos, enjoyable evening entertainment and excellent restaurants. *Also you may visit a few shopping malls within the Colombo City limits.

Thereafter, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.

You must be present at the airport on or before 3 hours prior to the flight time.
